SILVER CREEK (SUGAR ISLAND) WETLANDS

This property lies on the east end of Green Laker and protects 30+ acres of critical shoreland habitat on Silver Creek, Green Lake’s main tributary. The property includes submerged and emergent marsh, shrub-carr, lowland forest and Sugar Island, a wooded peninsula where the Ho-Chunk Nation made maple sugar.
Public access: Immediately east off County Trunk A (Inlet Road, opposite of Sunset Park, or by boat on Silver Creek off Spaulding Hill Road during warmer months, or across the ice in the winter.
