{"id":81,"date":"2014-08-08T16:49:25","date_gmt":"2014-08-08T16:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.glakesd.com\/?page_id=81"},"modified":"2026-05-18T19:12:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T19:12:11","slug":"garbage-collectionrecycling","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.glakesd.com\/?page_id=81","title":{"rendered":"Garbage Collection\/Recycling"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SPRING CLEAN-UP<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spring Clean-Up will be held the Saturday before Memorial Day and the following Tuesday thru Saturday.\u00a0 Following are the dates\/times:<br>Saturday 05\/23\/26 and Saturday 05\/30\/26; 8:00 am to 12:00 pm<br>Tuesday 05\/26\/26 through Friday 05\/29\/26; 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.<br>The purpose of Spring Clean-Up is to give property owners in the Green Lake Sanitary District the ability to get rid of unwanted items that Waste Management will not pick up as part of regular\/normal weekly household garbage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several Dumpsters will be set up at the Green Lake Sanitary District Office located at N5295 Cty Rd TT, Princeton WI. for residents to put the items in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will also have an area for gently used items that are not ready for the landfill, we will try to donate these items to other people and organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hazardous materials<\/strong> such as oils, paints, batteries, tires, microwaves, dehumidifiers, recyclables and appliances containing fluids etc. <strong>will not<\/strong> be accepted. <strong>Electronic waste<\/strong> <strong>will no<\/strong>t be accepted either. If you are unsure of an item, please contact the GLSD at 920-295-4488 or paulettej@glakesd.com.<br><br>The City of Princeton&#8217;s E-waste collection event will be held Saturday May 09, 2026, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. TV&#8217;s and Monitors there may be a fee for some electronics. Please contact the Princeton Clerk&#8217;s office 920-295-6612 for more information.&nbsp; You do not have to be a resident of the city to take advantage of this event.<br><strong>__________________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GLSD contracts Garbage &amp; Recycling pick up with Waste Management 888-960-0008 or WM dispatch 920-923-8826.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>GARBAGE PICKUP<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Garbage is picked up on Monday except for Holidays that fall on Monday. <\/strong><br>2026 Holidays observed by Waste Management on a Monday are Memorial Day, 5\/25\/26, Labor Day 9\/7\/2026.  Trash will be picked up on Tuesday for these days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>All Garbage should be set out Sunday night or by 6:00 am Monday morning. We suggest this time because the pickup route may change each week.<\/strong> If possible, put your trash out the morning of pick up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 WM will only service waste that is in WM-provided waste carts.<br>\u2022 Garbage must be placed in plastic bags to be picked up.<br>\u2022 WM trash carts are for <strong>household trash<\/strong> only.<br>\u2022 Bags containing recyclables will not be picked up.<br>\u2022 WM is not contracted to pick up large items; therefore, large items such as beds, tables, mattresses, TV&#8217;s, sofas, any appliances etc. will not be picked up.<br>\u2022 Wisconsin law requires recycling (Requires sign-up. See below.)<br>\u2022 Absolutely no yard waste in garbage.<br>\u2022 Due to varying volumes of trash each week, trash collection may take 2 days.<br>\u2022 Owners of rental properties are responsible for their property&#8217;s garbage.<br>\u2022 If your trash is missed, please call the GLSD office at 920-295-4488.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have items that WM will not accept, you can contact Green Lake Freight (Jason) 920-979-4809 he may be able to help you.<br>Washkovick Inc also provides a Household Trash Drop-off Site located at W4950 Cradle Rd Princeton the 1st &amp; 3rd Saturday of each month, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washkovick.com\/drop-off-site\">Drop-off Site (washkovick.com).<\/a><br>Please see their website for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>RECYCLING<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A recycling service is available to all residents in the Green Lake Sanitary District every other week as of 01\/01\/2024. The cost is $8.50 per month with a 64-gallon cart. To subscribe to this service, please call our office 920-295-4488 and we will reach out to WM to contact you.
