In August of 2025, the GLSD began construction on DNR-mandated phosphorus compliance upgrades at our Wastewater Treatment facility on County Rd TT and on our new parcels along County Rd T in the Town of Princeton. The construction of a new lift station, storage pond, and irrigation infrastructure has positioned the GLSD to meet current and long-term future wastewater nutrient limitations set forth by the State of WI.
We are currently in the final stages of the construction and have begun spraying our treated effluent through the center pivots. All acres of the land receiving water have been seeded into native prairie with specific emphasis on utilizing pollinator-friendly species. A big thank you to the DNR, Cedar Corp.
(the District’s engineer), and GLSD staff for making this unique project become a reality. Full construction is expected to be completed by June 15th, 2026.
