551 acres; 1.5 miles frontage on Silver Creek; protected since 2007
This 551-acre working farm is the first conservation easement completed by the Green Lake Conservancy, with the property title retained by the landowner. It includes a wetlands complex of low prairies, fens, sedge meadow and emergent marsh. Springs and seepages that occur on the property drain into Silver Creek, Green Lake’s main tribuary.
A conservation easement ensures that cultivated croplands and native plant and animal communities will be protected for future generations.
